Chicago by Night, Vampires Lords of the Rack

And then they withdrew...

Guy was busy preparing to woo Max Maurey and Sylvia, while Justine and Tobias worked adamantly to set up a secret Elysium for those in positions of authority. Junfan met with the kindred that would be called upon should war arise. In the midst of this, meeting requests were made with Augustus and Vorador, a tactic to stall them. Their main and most important ghoul, Rahm Emanuel was brought down in a swarm of contraversy. And then, inexplicably, the bodyguards and servants of the Ventrue fled the city. Persephone reports that all forces withdrew from her home. In deeper investigations Vincente, the Conte Novale, reports that Vorador has not returned to his home in Washington DC, nor has Augustus returned to his Italian Estates. Its as though they just disappeared. This is a mystery that may never be solved…

Junfan, I have no heard what happened but it appears that fate has shined favorably upon us. Now that we have once again secured the city, I am ramping up full scale re-building mode. I plan to finish funding my new foundation for building new sources of education, community centers, orphanages and other structures to rebuild the city. Let me know if you have any favored projects you would like included. Perhaps some neighborhood dojos?

Once all of this is rolling, I plan to finish my training with Jacques so that I can learn his secret to affecting the city in a positive manner.

And then they withdrew...

Hold up for a bit my Prince. This is too good to be true, and I find it quite disturbing. I already have my people investigating this mysterious disappearance of our foes. I suspect that this is a ploy or trap to mislead us. I must request that we prepare for immediate battle, and or assanation attempts. I have the Unholy and her acient allies on standby. I would suggest we gather together to increase our numbers for defense, but this also might leave us open to area affect type of attacks. Thus far I have no leads, except that the last person seen in their presence was Vin Maravani. I have enlisted the help of Abrimalach since his ability of detection offers a different perspective, and in many ways surpasses my own.

And then they withdrew...

Junfan, that is most disturbing. I made the unfortunate assumption that you had somehow convinced them to leave. We should definitely marshal our forces and prepare for the worst. I will call the 3 elders as well as other allies and let Montreal know of our situation. Any word from Vin?

And then they withdrew...

I admit while the majority of my efforts were put into surveillance and preparing for war, I did look into other options. However, I generally prefer a more permament solution, as opposed to a withdrawl. As for Vin, I have not sought his presence yet, I have just been gathering as much intelligence as I can. I have discovered that Vin has ties to Beliai’s Brood, and is allegedly a prominent figure head for them. Apparently, on more than one occasion he has met with Augustus. I have not received any word from Abrimilach as of yet. I have also contacted Shoju, with help should this turn into a war. His forces are currently on standby should we need them. At this time I have decided to make a personal visit to the estate Augustus was/is at. I will take a small strike team with me should I discover anything. I feel I need a “hands on” view of things to learn more details if you know what I mean.

And then they withdrew...
